Smokeball Spark Conference

Smokeball Spark Returns Bigger and Brighter in 2024

After the success of the inaugural event in 2023, Smokeball Spark returns on February 23, 2024, with a new lineup of speakers, including world-renowned keynotes, local thought leaders and industry innovators.

Hosted at the new W Sydney in Darling Harbour, Spark will feature speakers such as 2019 Australian of the Year, Dr Richard Harris OAM, renowned Australian anaesthetist and cave diver behind the 2018 Thai cave rescue mission. Detailing the complex emotions he experienced as he was cast into the global spotlight and tasked with the rescue of 12 Thai children trapped in a flooded cave, Richard's keynote speech will explore how critical decision-making, troubleshooting, leadership, and resilience in the face of adversity enabled him to triumph despite near-impossible odds.

Other notable speakers include Alison Hill, registered psychologist and CEO of Pragmatic Thinking, a three-time AFR Fast 100 company. Alison’s talk will focus on navigating key conversations in a busy world.

Attendees will experience three unique content streams, giving them access to a wide range of topics, including AI, firm growth, cyber-security, implementing change, and technology. Included in the 20+ speaker lineup are Karen Finch, Fiona McLay, Grant Herbert, Clayton Oates, Jessie Weatherley and John Ahern.

One discussion that is sure to be popular is ‘The Great AI Debate’ panel discussion, which will see four industry thought leaders and self-proclaimed AI enthusiasts come head-to-head and debate the key ethical considerations that have emerged with the rise of ChatGPT.

Hunter Steele, CEO of Smokeball, commented:

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome our customers, partners, and industry friends for another edition of Spark. For us, the event is all about celebrating the people within our industry by bringing them together for engaging conversations, learning and discovery whilst showcasing the latest developments in tech. This year’s event promises to take things to a new level, with aspects such as 'startup alley' showcasing some exciting newcomers to the legal tech space, plus some exciting use of AI in legal tech!”.

The final release of tickets is available for $299 per ticket, with delegates able to gain up to five CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points from the event. Follow the link for more information, including a full event overview and agenda.
